Description
The priest is named shepherd here, and the image develops the metaphor of the shepherd: while death takes the priest/shepherd with it, the sheep/the faithful are led astray.
The formula Percutiam pastorem et dispergentur oves is uttered by Jesus as he climbs with his disciples on the Mount of Olives, just before the prediction of Peter's denial.
