Deloynes 8, 107. Critique des peintures et sculptures de messieurs de l'Académie royale. L'an 1765. (anonyme sl), p. 14 :

"This subject lends much: Kindness is a woman offering her breast to a child; Generosity is with one hand leaning on the horn of Abundance, & with the other spreading gold profusely. The expression of these paintings is very beautiful: the draperies are of great nobility and truth. The design and coloring are true and have a beautiful effect. "

History :

1. Signed and dated lower left: "L. Lagrenée 1765"2. Commissioned in 1764 for the gallery of the Château de Choisy. Counterpart to "La Justice et la Clémence "
