History :

2. Commissioned around 1537 by Federico Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua, for the Cabinet of the Caesars, in the Trojan apartment of the Ducal Palace of Mantua; this decoration included eleven portraits of Roman emperors painted by Titian and eleven stories illustrating the lives of the emperors painted by Giulio Romano.
