92. Hector exposed on the banks of the Scamander after being killed by Achilles, & dragged to his chariot. Venus preserves his body from corruption.
This subject is taken from the 22nd. Book of the Iliad. It is eight feet high and five feet wide."

History :

3. Deshays exhibited a painting on the same subject at the Salon of 1765, no. 33.
