The Foods of Convalescence also known as The Attentive Guard.
History :
1. Signed or inscribed lower right : "Chardin".
2. Purchased from Chardin by Prince Joseph Wenzel of Liechtenstein, Austrian ambassador to France from 1737 to 1741.
Exhibited at the Salon of 1747, n°60.
Heirs' collection at least until 1948. Purchased in 1950 by the Samuel H. Kress Collection. Donated to the museum in 1952.
