Ces deux personne sillustres, que vous voyez assises dans un mesme Throsne, tesmoignent assez à leur mine combien est grande l'inquiétude de leur Ame, & le juste sujet qu'elles ont d'apprehendre cette Furie qui les menace. She is the most dangerous of the Eumenides; I mean Discord, whose contagious look is no less to be feared than the Torch she carries. She usually uses it to scorch hearts, after she has slid into them a secret Hayne, & an insatiable desire for Vengeance. Thus from a small flame she often ignites a great Blaze, & reduces to ashes in less than no time whole Cities, which are the work of many centuries. For it is by it, as Saluste says, that the greatest things are annihilated, as well as the least take increase by mutual Union. ... "
