History :

2. Paris, Hôtel de Soubise, princess's ceremonial bedroom. The two original paintings hanging in the alcove on either side of the bed have disappeared and been replaced by Boucher's two pastorales from the prince's apartment, The Gallant Pastor and its counterpart The Compliant Pastor, or The Cage.

3. Door top engraved by A. Laurent in 1742, then transposed to porcelain in 1752.
