Description
Rodomonte, King of Algiers (seated, helmeted, left), travels to the south of France to set sail for Africa. On the way, he is welcomed at an inn (sign on right). His host tells him a story illustrating the infidelity of women : the story of Iocondo. (Canto XXVIII of Ariosto's Orlando furioso.)
