Tancred weeping over Clorinda's tomb (JD ch12) - Vanloo

Description

History :

2. Commissioned three door tops and eight small paintings on the theme of Jerusalem Delivered for the King's Cabinet in the Royal Palace in Turin. The decoration of the cabinet, known as the Pregadio cabinet, is by P. Massa. Vanloo received 1500 lire on Nov. 24, 1733. Top left of the door surmounted by Clorinde asking for the grace of Olinde and Sophronie.
