Vergeltung / Revenge - Arno Breker

2. Commissioned by Hitler for Germania, which was to be the future capital of the Third Reich, this monumental bas-relief was intended to adorn a frieze in the Soldiers' Hall (240 m), on the north-south axis of the city. For this frieze, Arno Breker created, in addition to Vengeance, the Torchbearer, the Victim, the Avenger, the Guard, and Comrades.
All of these sculptures were destroyed during the bombing of Berlin in 1945.
