Description
Edmond has rallied for love to the camp of supporters of Charles Ier, the king opposed to the rebels led by Cromwell. He even helps the king to flee incognito, but one evening when they are staying with lumberjacks, the latter suspect the king's presence among their guests and see an opportunity to distinguish himself with Cromwell by handing Charles Ier over to them. Edmund overhears their conversation and bursts in: threatening them, he impersonates the king and offers to let himself be captured in exchange for the escape of his companion, who is in fact the real king.
