Description

"The Austrians, who esteemed his virtues and courage, paid him funeral honors in their camp, and sent his body back to the desolate French army. On the monument erected to him in Coblence, we still read: Whoever you are, friend or foe, of this young hero respect the ashes." (p. 225)
