History :

3. The Fontaine Saint-Michel, built in 1860 by Davioud, was inspired by the Medici Fountain in the Luxembourg Gardens and the Trevi Fountain in Rome.
For the central statue, Duret drew inspiration from Raphael's painting in the Louvre.
