The title is an allusion to a comedy by Tristan Bernard, Le Danseur inconnu, performed on December 29, 1909 at the Athénée: Henri is a very likeable young man of modest means, whose family has gone bankrupt. He attends a wedding to which he is not invited. He meets Berthe, one of the bride's friends...
