Collection Armand Jean de Vignerot du Plessis, Duc de Richelieu (1629-1715);
acquired from him by Louis XIV, 1665;
hôtel de Grammont in Paris, 1690;
presented in the Salon de l'Abondance at the Château de Versailles, 1703;
at the Louvre in 1785 (Duplessis inventory, no. 125);
exhibited at the opening of the Muséum (Louvre), 1793 (cat. no. 159). ; cf. Dubreuil, 2001);
sent to the Musée Spécial de l'École Française at the Château de Versailles, 1797.
