Description
This greeting on thy impious crest receive. (Book VI, 188)
Archangel Raphael tells Adam and Eve about the rebellion of Lucifer's army.
Among all the angels under the fallen angel's command, Abdiel is the only one who refused to follow him. As the armies of God and Lucifer face each other, Abdiel stands alone before his enemy and exposes the extent of his error. Seeing that Lucifer is not listening to him, he strikes a blow that sends him reeling back ten paces, announcing his defeat.
