Description
22nd figure.
Subject. Manon, who loves her husband, though she has basely deceived him, is in despair over his infidelity with Laure: as soon as she found out, she resolved to poison herself. Which she does, writing a letter to Gaudet. She stands, having swallowed the poison, disheveled.
Manon, warned by a letter of her unfaithful husband Edmond's betrayal, commits suicide.
