Description

47th figure
Subject. Edmond, immersed in debauchery and the most depraved licentiousness, finds his sister in a disreputable place, where she has been brought to him like an unfortunate woman destined to satisfy his brutality. The prostitute, on her return with the light, shows the two unfortunate souls to each other. Edmond shudders and hides his face; Ursule dismisses the woman with a gesture of her hand.

Edmond discovers that the prostitute he is visiting is his sister Ursule when the prostitute returns with the light after leaving them alone.
