24. Glycera, or the Flower Girl. This beautiful Athenian woman, famous in antiquity and mentioned by several authors, sold wreaths at the gates of temples. She was painted by one of Greece's great artists: a copy of her portrait was sold for a considerable price and taken to Rome.
