The painting of the tender memory and that of a young girl who has broken her mirror were not exhibited: the public seemed to regret this.
History :
3. Engraved in reverse in 1779 by Robert de Launay, Bnf Estampes Dc 8 Fol, folio 20, pure etching state, and folio 21, final state, with the title ‘Le Malheur imprévû’ (The Unexpected Misfortune). See also Musée du Louvre, Rothschild Collection, inv. no. 6354LR.
