2. Constantin Huygens, secretary to Prince Frederick-Henri of Orange, recounts in his autobiography (1630) that "in my Prince's house, there is a representation of a Turkish commander, executed after the head of some Dutchman."
The current title in the museum catalog is "Mann in orientalischer Kleidung" [Man in oriental costume].
