During the night he spends in his father's home, Aeneas sees Hector's ghost in a dream, in the guise of a mortally wounded warrior. Hector tells Aeneas that Troy is lost. He urges him to flee, taking with him the Palladium and the Penates of Troy. After a long sea voyage, he will settle them in a new city.
