History :
3. See the painting exhibited at the 1767 Salon, no. 14 in the booklet. The set-up of the scene, with the father in the tent on the left and the three children on the right, recalls that of Chauveau's engraving for "Le vieillard et ses enfants", in the 1668 edition of La Fontaine's Fables.
