Description

History :

1. Signed and dated lower left "Ary Scheffer | 1830".

2. This sketch was submitted to the competition held in December 1830 for the decoration of the Salle des Séances at the Chambre des Députés. It was the painter Coutan who won the commission.
Acquired by the Musée Carnavalet in 1932.
