Description
Edouard, the son of Baron de Villars, hears a female voice as he approaches Netley Abbey, next door to the family castle. To get to the bottom of it, he disguises himself as a bard and manages to enter the abbey: he enlivens the community of monks and then, as night falls, secretly inspects the underground passages and stumbles upon a young woman prisoner, whom he frees before fleeing with her.
