Description

The creation of this game at the beginning of the 20th century is certainly linked to the procedures for the beatification and then canonization of Joan of Arc.

History :
  1. The illustrator did not sign his engravings, but E. Serre is the usual illustrator of Saussine games.
  2. The image in the leaflet is not that of the copy kept at the Mucem, in poorer condition.
The Mucem copy was bought by Edith Frilley.
The set includes 1 lid, 1 box base, 1 green cardboard token basket, 3 pink cloth token purses, 12 pictorial lotto boards, 90 numbered cards, 94 colored tokens (including 3 real penny coins).
  3. Jules Ernest Lenepveu, a painter from Anjou, created 4 canvases between 1886 and 1890 to decorate the Panthéon, including Jeanne devant Orléans, which probably served as a model here.
