The stork crosses the Rhine (Daudet, Les Cigognes) - Jundt

Description

The stork has kidnapped the Baron Major of Falkenhorst, who wanted to forcibly conscript the chimney sweep's son, Father Jacob. She takes the baron back to Germany, crossing the Rhine to do so. The major struggles, tries to strike the stork with his saber, causing "a lively commotion on both banks."
