Description
Isabelle, in a parade at the Foire Saint-Laurent, makes a pass at the wispy old Cassandre in front of her, and repels the handsome Léandre on the left, whose high hat prefigured, in 1785, the fashion of the Incroyables thermidoriens.
Isabelle en-scene at the parade, in the forecourt of the Foire-Saintlaurent, between Cassandre and the handsome Leandre: She pushes aside the latter, & presents her hand to the former, who half-removing his wiggy hair, shows a handsome Jeunehomme: "Ma chere Isabelle!... l'Amour... m'a rajeuni"! (Author's caption)
