Description
Theodore has been sentenced to death after assaulting one of his superiors. Meanwhile, Adeline has escaped her persecutors and taken refuge with the La Luc family, who coincidentally turn out to be Theodore's family. All are simultaneously made aware of the situation and visit Théodore in prison in Paris. As they must part, emotion overcomes everyone and Théodore's father sits down on a chair, Théodore's sister feels sorry for him, and Adeline cries into her friend's bosom, while he looks at her thinking that these may be his last moments with her.
