Sancho hanging on a branch (Don Quixote, II, 31, ed. 1863) - Gustave Doré

Description

The vignette actually illustrates the end of the previous chapter. In Cervantes, Sancho gets caught in his stirrup trying to get off his donkey, and Don Quixote, who was counting on him to get off the saddle, lands on the ground. A pitiful arrival in front of the Duke and Duchess!
