And now on earth the seventh
Evening arose in Eden. (Book VII, 581-582)

The archangel Raphael tells Adam and Eve about Creation.

On the sixth day, God creates the land animals and completes His work by shaping the human being in His image, first Adam then Eve, so that he commands all living creatures. On the seventh day, He rests and Creation is fully accomplished.
